Smile

Hey everyone, hope you are all well. This week we have a guest writer, Ashley King! Hope you enjoy her post below.

How having a relationship with Christ can brighten your smile.

With everything that is going on; COVID-19 closing businesses and laying off thousands of people and with racial tensions being so high that every time you turn on the television or the radio you are hearing about someone losing their life, it’s no wonder that it is hard to find something to smile about. The world seems so dark and cold with a slither of hope shining through. Even though the world may seem to be this way, it doesn’t mean that there is nothing to smile about.

What is there to smile about you ask? God and his promises. God’s word is filled with his promises to provide and deliver us in our time of need. They are all throughout the good book. Let’s take a look at Isaiah 40:29, which promises us that He will give us strength when we get weary and restore us when we are weak. When you feel as if you can’t continue to go on and that things look dismal, turn, and lean on God. Things may not be how you desire them to be, but know that you will make it to see a better day with God on your side.

Isaiah 43:2 reassures us that when our circumstances seem to be overwhelming and take over our lives, they won’t. God will not give us more than we can bear. We have to do our part but not giving up and keep putting one foot in front of the other and press on. When you continue to press on regardless of how your circumstances may look, God has already made a way and is just waiting on you.

1 John 1:9 reminds us that nothing we have done is too great for God’s forgiveness. Sometimes we go around carrying the weight of secret sin and past hurt, but God wants you to be free and happy. If you confess your sins to Christ and acknowledge that Christ is your Lord and Savior, then you will be redeemed.

His word never promised us that we wouldn’t go through anything, but His word did promise that when we are going through that, he will be with us through it all. If you stand on the word of God and trust that God’s word can be your reality, then there is so much to smile for when you have a relationship with Christ. Nothing in this world can change that!
